| Artificial farm dam situated on the privately owned Record Boerdery property west of Paul Roux in the eastern Free State. The dam lies immediately adjacent to the S194 within an agricultural landscape dominated by cultivated fields and livestock grazing. Small wetland areas occur adjacent to the dam but fall outside the defined CWAC site. |
| Physical_features |
|---|
| The site comprises a single, discrete freshwater impoundment with predominantly open water and little to no submerged or floating aquatic vegetation. Emergent and marginal vegetation is relatively limited, covering approximately 10% of the immediate wetland vicinity. Several established trees occur within the inundated area and provide nesting sites for a breeding colony of herons. The dam can be viewed from the adjacent S194, providing convenient roadside access for CWAC counts.
