    Notes A large heronry in a reed island in Loch Athlone was very active this season with numerous species breeding here in large numbers, notably Western Cattle Egret, Glossy Ibis, Black-headed Heron, Purple Heron, Black-crowned Night Heron, Squacco Heron, Yellow-billed Egret, Little Egret, Little Bittern and Reed Cormorants.
