    Notes Counts conducted on foot and by car. Major floodplain pans (not the big pan - site 6, or the airstrip fence pan closest to the house - site 2) still have water. Some rainfall in weeks previous; very different to 2021 summer when all but heronry pan (site 1) and last pan (site 7) bone dry. As dry, not all of shoreline counted, but note, most of shoreline thick reedmarsh, which isn't walked extensively anyway; however all open reedmarsh pans along shoreline counted (dry or not). Cape Wagtail present, but not counted accurately. Blue Crane making use of shallow pan and saltmarsh ( airstrip fence: far pan - site 3). Large Darter roost/ old breeding colonies in gums behind heronry pan (site 4) - no active breeding observed, but signs of old nests. Falling tide: HT= 06h45; Low Tide = 12h58, so still high tide in upper estuary at time of count.
