    Notes "Because the 2 Oceans Marathon was in operation the Main Road was closed to motorised traffic. Our counters logistics needed some changes to the order of area counting as the Military Road railway crossing was closed till 11h30. So Park Island and the Caravan Park were counted first. It rained over night and the odd shower was passing until 08h30 with the wind from the SW. The water flow under the railway bridge was measured at 1 metre per 8 seconds, and the main waterbody appeared to be quite full at the edges. There were many Yellow billed Ducks in the Westlake Wetlands for some reason today. Thank you to Mark Arendse who cut the reeds during the week, so access along the river edges for counting would be possible on foot. A highlight was seeing the African Marsh Harrier patrolling the wetlands and beautifully lit by the sun from the east. The trains were stop starting and travelling very slowly between Lakeside and Steenberg stations for some reason today. "
